Our Campaign

I AM WATER® is our public campaign, created together with partners and individuals, to make water known, protected and celebrated. Through public engagement, education and direct cooperation with cities, I AM WATER® links two of the clearest signs of sound urban water management: drinkable tap water and swimmable urban rivers. It connects people with water through three simple pillars: Know it. Drink it. Touch it.

There is only one body of water on Earth, and we risk depleting it if we do not manage it responsibly. Water is the origin and source of Life. It is our bloodstream, our amniotic fluid, and its essential purpose is to continue Creation. According to the Big Bang theory, hydrogen was the first element to form. In Genesis, water is not only present at the beginning of creation; it also appears before the creation of life itself. Everything is in liquid form before it becomes solid, and trees, muscles and bones display patterns that reflect the movement of water. “Life is water, dancing to the tune of solids.” — Albert Szent-Gyorgyi
